Sapp Bros. is committed to growing the next generation of Diesel Mechanics. Start your career with minimal student loan debt with our tuition reimbursement program for qualified candidates. Mechanic tuition reimbursement is available to all students graduating from an approved accredited Diesel Tech program that meet the qualifying performance standards. The tuition reimbursement is paid directly to your loan company, which makes it easy for you.

You can earn up to $5,250 per year in tuition reimbursement – tax free! Based on the number of years of employment you agree to, you could be reimbursed up to $26,250.

*Tax benefit is approved through 12/31/2024 by the IRS.

Mechanic Program numbers

Shop Tool Allowance

Sapp Bros. offers all new technicians hired at any Sapp Bros. locations that have graduated an accredited diesel technology program within one year a shop tool allowance up to $200 per month for 24 months (not to exceed $4800).

Qualifying Performance Standards for both Tuition Reimbursement and Tool Program.

Sapp Bros., Inc. requires the following performance standards of the graduate:

  • Grade Point must be 3.0 or higher
  • “A” grade in Lab effectiveness
  • Attendance score 90% or higher during the Diesel Tech program
  • 90 days of full-time employment
  • Clean Driving Record (No more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents)
  • Must obtain DOT med card
  • Must maintain a warranty % of less than 1% total labor sales
  • 90 days of full-time employment

Any disciplinary action or loss of driving privileges under Sapp Bros. standards will disqualify you from further payments and participation in the tuition / loan reimbursement program. Tuition Reimbursement program only: Eligibility requires graduate status and date of graduation from an approved accredited Diesel Tech program within the last 12 months.
